Urgent dental problem? NHS 111

Privacy Policy: What We Collect and Why

This site collects very little about you. It has no forms, no accounts, no newsletter and no lead capture, and nothing on it asks for your health details. This policy explains the small amount of personal data that is still involved, in plain English, and what your rights are under UK data protection law.

Who is responsible for your data

The site is published by the BestDentalTurkey.clinic editorial team, which decides how personal data collected through the site is used (the “controller” in UK GDPR terms). You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@bestdentalturkey.clinic. We are an independent editorial site, not a clinic or a dental practice.

What we collect

  • Emails you send us. If you write to the editorial address, we receive your email address, your name if it appears in your message or address, and whatever you choose to tell us. Please do not include health details; we cannot give medical advice and do not need them.
  • Technical data from the server. When your browser loads a page, the web server receives your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, the type of browser and device, and the page you came from, if your browser sends it. This is routine for any website and is recorded in server logs kept by our hosting provider.
  • Your cookie choice. If you press a button on the cookie banner, your browser stores that choice on your own device. It is not sent to us. See the cookie policy for the detail.
  • Analytics, only if switched on and only with your consent. At present the site does not run any analytics, so nothing is collected in this way, whichever button you press. If we switch it on we will update this page first. It is intended to be Google Analytics 4, loaded only after you press “Accept analytics”.

What we do not collect

We do not run contact forms, enquiry forms or booking forms. We do not collect enquiries for clinics or pass your details to any clinic or dentist. We do not take payments, create user accounts, send marketing emails or ask for medical information. We do not sell personal data.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To read and reply to your email, and to keep a record of corrections. Our legal basis is legitimate interests: we need to be able to deal with what readers tell us and to keep the site accurate.
  • To keep the site secure and working (server logs). Our legal basis is legitimate interests in running a secure site.
  • To measure which guides are read (analytics, if switched on). Our legal basis is your consent, which you can decline without losing access to anything on the site.

Who else sees your data

We use standard service providers: a hosting provider, which handles the server logs, and an email provider, which handles the editorial mailbox. If analytics is switched on and you accept it, Google receives the analytics data and may process it outside the UK. We do not pass your data to clinics, advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep it

We keep emails for up to 12 months after our last reply, then delete them. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for no longer than is needed for security and diagnostics. Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you and to give you a copy, to correct it, to erase it, to restrict how we use it, or to stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Contact us at the address above and we will respond. We may need to check who you are before we release anything.

If you are unhappy

Please tell us first so that we can put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), the UK’s data protection regulator.

Links to other sites

Our guides link to sources such as the National Health Service (NHS) and the General Dental Council. Those sites have their own privacy and cookie practices, which this policy does not cover. When you follow a link, you leave this site.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect changes, for example if analytics is switched on, we will update this page before the change and change the date below. For how we handle storage and cookies, see our cookie policy. The general conditions for using the site are in our terms of use.
